A two wheel road safety initiative fueled by artists and motorcyclists from all over the world.
India is one of the countries with the most traffic deaths worldwide.
* Each day 327 motorcyclists die in India
Most motorcycle deaths are a result of head injuries and wearing a motorcycle helmet securely can reduce the risk of death by 40% and the risk of heavy head injury by 70%.
Over 20 artists from all across the globe that are passionate about riding on two wheels have pledged their support to make riding safer for everyone, everywhere. And they are showing their support by making art on motorcycle helmets.
Together with Niels-Peter Jensen, a team of motorcycle enthusiasts will travel through India to raise awareness for the cause and hand out helmets to motorcyclists and families as needed.
The customized art helmets will be premiered at special art exhibition in collaboration with Moto Art Show on 24 March, 2019 in Mumbai.
After their debut in India, the art helmets will travel to other well known motorcycle events around the globe.

“Motorbikes are dangerous... but they also offer a sense of freedom that is pretty much unparalleled. Additionally, for those not looking for the thrills motorbikes offer, they are a simple, cheap and effective transport for millions of people worldwide, but with that also needs to come road safety and the right sensible protection for this chosen transport. This shouldn’t be a decision based on money or safety education, but unfortunately it so often is. That needs to change… and fast. Think with your head… put a HELMET on it!”

“Pedestrians and people on 2 wheelers are at most risk on Indian roads. There are many Indian organizations and individuals who are working tirelessly to improve this situation but sometimes it takes an outsider to bring a fresh perspective that is free of any preconceived do’s and dont’s. This is why I joined Helmets for India that is bringing together creative minds and bikers from around the world to help change the perception of a motorcycle helmet. Helmets for India has a strong idea and and a strong team behind it.“

“Helmets for India is an essential project, highlighting the importance of a wearing simple item of protective gear that will save thousands of lives. To us
in the West it's a simple precaution, and is firmly built into motorcycle culture, and is part of each rider's personal look & style. We need to make wearing a helmet in India an equally normal, every-day thing, as it is here, and even
better if we can also make it cool, through this art project. I'm really pleased to support this very noble and important cause, which will genuinely save countless lives.”
