Francesco Colombo

Born in Monza in the late 80s, Francesco has been an ardent fan of cars and motorcycles since his childhood. Hailing from the town that hosts the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix, as a child, his drawings often reproduced scenes from the Grand Prix.

 

He graduated from the Art Institute of Monza in. In 2014, he shifted his base to Australia for a couple of years. This change of culture enriched his personal experience that reflected in his drawings.

 

From screen printing during school till collages of the last times, his art is a process in constant evolution. While he still prefers drawing on paper, since the last few years, he has shifted to digital because of its versatility and efficiency. It allows Francesco to save time and experiment with new effects. His training in pencil-on-paper and the new pursuit of digital has resulted in mixed media artworks. He likes spray colours and makes collages of the illustrations. It gives his artworks a particular effect, more material and helps to create a different artistic style.

 

‘Art for motor enthusiasts, dreamers and travelers’ is the motto contained in his works. To set one free is his mission being lived through his artworks.
